Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are found in a wide variety of common household products: paints, varnishes, cleaning supplies, disinfectants, glues and adhesives, and even new carpet and building supplies. Look for ingredients like benzene, chloride, formaldehyde, ethylene, and toluene. VOCs can cause the following symptoms: irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, headaches, nausea, and even severe chronic health conditions such as damage to the nervous system. The presence of VOCs can also exacerbate asthma.

Air purifiers are devices which use filters to reduce indoor air pollutants. Such machines are beyond the means of most people in India, where the annual per capita income was $1,709 in 2016, according to the World Bank.
"We created the first inner circle of hard core fans through MIUI," said Wang, adding the firm holds an annual banquet for several hundred core fans, where Lei cooks. "The key is the sense of engagement."
Delhi's chief minister, who belongs to an opposition party, called the city a "gas chamber" last year as levels of airborne PM 2.5, tiny particulate matter that can reach deep into the lungs, far exceeded levels classified as "hazardous."
Xiaomi makes 90 percent of its revenue from hardware sales but calls itself an internet content company. It wants to make money by delivering services to the more than 100 million users of its connected devices and 190 million people who use its software MIUI.
Shopping for the right air purifier can be confusing and frustrating. Some air purifiers on the market today actually pollute the air with harmful levels of ozone, a powerful lung irritant that can be especially dangerous to asthma sufferers. Learn about air purifiers and find a safe, effective unit that's right for your needs with this air purifier buying guide.
Extra Features - These are the bells and whistles. They can make your air purifier a lot easier to use. On the other hand, they can also significantly up the price on an air purifier that isn't really all that much better than the next one. You simply have to decide which features will make your life easier and which ones just aren't worth the extra cash. For example, a filter change indicator light lets you know when to change the filter, and handles or casters are important if you plan on moving your air purifier around a lot.

Reuters reported last month that Xiaomi had tapped CLSA, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as sponsors for its proposed IPO, which could value the company at up to $100 billion and be the world's biggest tech float this year.
The IPO means Xiaomi, a self-described internet company, is stepping up its game in the international market while trying to invent a new business model that works overseas. Its first challenge would be to reduce its revenue reliance on smartphone sales, which accounted for 70 percent of the company's revenue in 2017, by increasing revenue from other gadgets and internet services.
Pan Weida, 31, an online vendor in Shanghai, has 78 Xiaomi products in his apartment, including a robot vacuum cleaner and a rice cooker. He spends around 1,000 yuan per month and buys almost all new Xiaomi products.
"Xiaomi is more than a hardware company," said Lei in an open letter to investors. "Although our hardware business is essential to building our user base, we do not expect it to be the main source of our profits."
The company later was passed in sales volume by local rivals Huawei, Oppo and Vivo. But after a slump in 2016, Xiaomi's growth rate outpaced other smartphone makers in the following year. While Samsung, Apple and Huawei saw flat or 10 percent growth or less in 2017, Xiaomi sales jumped 58 percent, according to IHS.Still, Xiaomi is projected to have made a net profit of at least $1 billion last year, according to bankers who have analysed the company's revenue estimates. Profits are estimated to roughly double to around $2 billion this year.
There are concerns over thin margins, a stalling Chinese smartphone market, costs of opening physical stores, and obstacles facing the brand to retain its followers and win new ones overseas, analysts who cover the company told Reuters.
Xiaomi is selling about 2.18 billion shares at HK$17 each ($2.17), the bottom of a price range of HK$17 to HK$22, two of the people said. That makes the IPO the largest in the technology sector since Alibaba Group Holding Ltd raised $25 billion in New York in 2014.
NEW DELHI, March 20 (Reuters) - As pollution choked India's capital Delhi in recent years, a total of 140 air purifiers were purchased for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's offices and at least six other government agencies, according to previously unpublished government data.

A senior government official familiar with Modi's pollution-control planning said there was no federal policy allowing officials to buy air purifiers and such purchases were made only if departments received requests from bureaucrats.
Antibacterial and Germicidal Filters eliminate bacteria and germs. The IQAir Clean Room H13 HEPA Air Purifier, for example, utilizes a HEPA filter treated with agents to kill airborne microorganisms. Other air purifiers, like the AllerAir 4000 EXEC UV Air Purifier, use a UV lamp to kill germs. As antigens and pathogens pass over the lamp, it emits ultraviolet waves which alter their DNA, making them sterile and harmless. Air purifiers with UV filters are often used in sterile environments such as hospitals, kitchens, daycares, and labs. In residential use, they are great for controlling mold. If you are someone who gets sick often, an air purifier with a germicidal filter may be just what you need to give your immune system that extra boost.

"Fundamentally, the internet is all about transparency, efficiency and equality," Lei said in his letter to investors. "We want to allow everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or education level, to enjoy the benefits of technology."
The slump forced the company to pull back from several overseas markets in 2016, and to shift towards physical stores and developing artificial intelligence and internet services as new areas of growth.
Air Changes Per Hour (ACH) - This number, also known as the ACH rating, tells us how frequently the air purifier can exchange all the air in a given room. For example, if the purifier has a ACH rating of 6 for a 20' x 20' room, then it is capable of exchanging all of the air in that room 6 times every hour. If you have allergies or asthma, you want an ACH rating of at least 4 and preferably 6 or 8.The market of automotive in-vehicle air purifier is likely to be strong in next coming years. In addition, the vehicle manufacturing in this province is the maximum in the world and is projected that Asia-Pacific would show a potential development in the air purifier market in the forecast period. Furthermore, countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia are taking several initiatives to induce responsiveness in individuals regarding utilization of these technologies. Owing to all these aspects, Asia-Pacific is projected to show a high augmentation rate based on implementation of advance air purifier systems.
Different air purifier filters target different types of air pollution. HEPA air purifiers are the most popular, and they're perfect for eliminating household allergens such as dust, animal dander, and pollen, but they're not very good at capturing ultra-fine particles like viruses or eliminating foul odors or chemical fumes.
The automobile sector is dynamic in nature, and it constantly adopts superior technologies for improving the customer experience. Interior cabin space of automobiles is likely to evolve quickly based on automation of seats, upholstery, and infotainment. This cabin space faces the most demanding surroundings as it is incline to smoke, polluted air, bad odour, toxic fumes, pollens and food smell, which either get captivated to the upholstery or float the atmosphere, making passengers more incline to infections. Worldwide, most important cities are likely to be prone to pollution and high pollutant concentrations due to traffic congestion and augmented emissions, which gives increase to the requirement for setting-up of onboard air purifiers or ionizers to disinfect the cabin air from injurious toxicants. Demand and requirement for clean as well as toxin-free cabin air and augment in air pollution level globally are expected to be the key drivers of the global automotive in-vehicle air purifiers. On the other hand, non-standardized items can act as a major hindrance to this growth of the market.
But the stubble issue has become more acute in recent years because mechanised harvesters leave more of a residue than crops plucked by hand. Such harvesters are increasingly popular in the wealthy northern states, where farmer lobbies are also politically powerful.
NEW DELHI, Nov 16 (Reuters) - As pollution level climbed to 12 times above the recommended limit this week in India's capital, government officials said they knew what was needed to control the smoky haze, but nothing would be done, at least this year.
Priti Patel will visit the Caribbean on Sunday, during a whistle-stop tour, so she can survey the damage caused to a number of British overseas territories that were pummelled by two major storms in close succession.
As a thick blanket of haze settled over parts of northern India, including the capital, over the past few days, the official response to what has become an annual phenomenon has been marked by paralysis and lack of ownership, interviews with government officials show.
The IPO is expected to raise billions of dollars - possibly the biggest haul in the tech sector since Alibaba raised $22 billion in 2014 - though forecasts of how much have declined. It aims to raise as much as $6.1 billion in the IPO, Bloomberg and the South China Morning Post said, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

Noise Level - Some air purifiers, such as the Blueair units, are extremely quiet, while others can be quite loud when operating at high power. If possible, ask for a demonstration before you buy your air purifier.
"The situation has worsened this year because of the slow wind speed," which means the pollutants hang in the air for longer, said D. Shah, a scientist at the state-run Central Pollution Control Board of India.
Airborne Particles include pet allergen, dust mite allergen, pollen, plant spores, fungi, mold, and tobacco smoke, and they are the most common cause of indoor allergy and asthma attacks. HONG KONG, June 29 (Reuters/IFR) - China's Xiaomi Corp priced its Hong Kong initial public offering (IPO) at the bottom of an indicative range, raising $4.72 billion in the world's biggest tech float in four years, people close to the transaction said on Friday.
Electrostatic Precipitators work on the same principle of electricity as ion generators and ozone generators, but electrostatic precipitators capture impurities rather than simply forcing them to cling to an external surface. Electrostatic precipitators, such as the Friedrich C90B Electrostatic Air Purifier, use electronic cells to charge particles within the purifier and immediately trap the impurities on collector plates. The main advantage with this type of air purifier is that the collector plates never have to be replaced; they can be easily washed in the dishwasher. Be aware that some electrostatic precipitators also generate ozone.
The global automotive in-vehicle air purifier market is categorized by technology, product type, and vehicle type. In terms of product type, the global market is further fragmented into air ionizer, air purifier, and hybrid systems. In terms of technology, the market is divided into active carbon system, high efficiency particulate arrestor (HEPA) filter, and photo catalytic system. In terms of vehicle type, the market is classified into light commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and heavy commercial vehicles. In terms of product type, air purifier segment is likely to account for the leading market share, followed by hybrid system. On the other hand, the hybrid system is expected to develop at the maximum expansion rate owing to its augmented implementation in luxury vehicles.
The company, which started with smartphones but has since branched out into a plethora of smart devices, first gained a following in China by releasing limited batches of slick-looking phones to shoppers online at a lower price-tag than the likes of Apple Inc.
The Mi series of smartphones helped drive Xiaomi's quick rise with their ultra-low prices and competitive quality, but stagnant growth in the smartphone market, especially in developed countries, means Xiaomi needs to look for new revenue sources.
Some of the most important market players in the global Automotive In-Vehicle Air Purifier are Koninklijke Philips N.V., Kent RO Systems Ltd, Eureka Forbes, Sharp Electronics Corporation, Diamond Air Purifiers, Honeywell, Panasonic Corporation, ADA Electrotech (Xiamen) Co., Ltd, Purafil, Inc., and Livpure Private Limited., are among others.
To help your plans of a first rate version of your own ideas an air purifier will provide health benefits by removing airborne particles indoors, this will decrease the chances of allergy symptoms in your home. The decision to purchase air cleaners can prevent colds, asthma, headaches, allergies, and other illnesses. Remember this is a funny business even though air cleaners are great at solving common symptoms, I think you should know they haven't been proven to prevent allergy symptoms. The problem is with the harmful particles that are already absorbed by walls or home objects, even though air filters can block airborne toxins prior to inhaling them.
Energy Usage - Like all appliances, different air purifiers use different amounts of energy for operation. Unlike most appliances, air purifiers run continuously, so you'll want to consider your utility bill before buying an air purifier. If only volts and amps are listed, simply multiply the two: volts x amps = watts. Typical mechanical air filters can use anywhere from 50 watts on low to 200 watts on high. (For comparison sake, a typical lamp uses about 60 watts, while a typical computer uses about 365 watts).
It was initially expected to raise up to $10 billion, split between Hong Kong and mainland China, but last week shelved the mainland offering until after listing in Hong Kong. Cornerstone investors included U.S. chipmaker Qualcomm Inc and telecom service provider China Mobile Ltd.The IPO values the Beijing-based, Cayman-domiciled company at $54.3 billion - $70.3 billion after a 15 percent "greenshoe" or over-allotment option which can be sold if there is demand. If the greenshoe is exercised, Xiaomi's free float will be 9.99 percent of its enlarged share capital.
Tens of thousands of people living in rural areas migrate to the cities every day, seeking better economic opportunities. Many end up in slums and informal settlements, and are particularly vulnerable to the pollution.
More and more studies have shown that air purifiers can significantly reduce the many harmful contaminants found indoors by filtering them from homes and workplaces. What it boils down to is happiness is good health and a air cleaner will help you achieve it by eliminating pollutants that cause upper respiratory illnesses, colds, allergy irritation and asthma.

Because different air purifier technologies have different strengths and weaknesses, many modern air purifiers combine two or more filter types in the same unit. For example, the Austin Air Super Blend Healthmate utilizes a HEPA filter along with an activated carbon filter to help eliminate odors and fumes. Let's take a closer look at the different types of filters:
An estimated $600 million is needed to provide farmers with alternatives, but the Bharatiya Janata Party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposition parties in power in New Delhi and nearby Punjab states are squabbling over who will pay, said three federal government officials who have been briefed on the situation.
Danish artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen's performance, entitled "Re-inventing Domesticity and the Decomposing of the Self", also drew others to tread carefully around her body as she lay down in an open container.
You can take this to the bank, there are two major categories for air purifiers and they are air cleaners for home and room air purifiers. An introduction: room air purifiers have smaller CFMs and purify the air more often, now the home air purifiers have larger CFMs and purify the air less times.
Commercial trucks are now banned from the city unless they are transporting essential commodities and the Delhi transport department said it re-introduced an "odd-even" scheme under which cars with licence plates ending in an odd number are allowed one day and even-numbered cars the next day.

Life is a journey and we determine our own destination, if we choose to allow negative influences such as air pollution to rule over us they will have a negative impact. The essence of an air cleaner is to filter harmful contaminants found indoors out of homes and workplaces.
The tight seals that make your home comfortable and energy efficient also make the indoor air more polluted. The air inside your home is five to ten times dirtier than the air outside, and Americans spend 90% of their lives indoors. Quality air purifiers have never been more important for good health.
If sustained, such reductions would increase the life expectancy of the average Chinese citizen by 2.4 years relative to 2013. PM 2.5 can play a role in heart disease, stroke, and lung ailments such as emphysema and cancer.

Implementation of in-vehicle air-purifier in automobiles is moderately high in Asia-Pacific region than other provinces. This owes to the reality that emerging countries in Asia-Pacific are mainly affected by air contamination, and automobile producers and the government are taking several initiatives to encourage the technologies that will assist to decrease the injurious effects of toxic atmosphere. Asia-pacific is the province with highest growing economies such as India and China, with the former accounting for around 65% of the Asia-Pacific in-vehicle air purifier global market revenue. The air has remained consistently in the "hazardous" category or above those levels, despite measures including an order to halt to all construction activity, restricting vehicles and raising parking charges to push the use of public transport.

Activated Carbon Filters are rarely used alone to purify the air, but they are often used in conjunction with other filters. Activated carbon and charcoal filters excel at adsorbing odors and gases and neutralizing smoke, chemicals, and fumes. "Adsorb" is not a typo; "adsorption" occurs when materials attach through chemical attraction. Activated carbon has been treated with oxygen, opening up millions of pores in the carbon. There are so many of these tiny pores that one pound of activated carbon has a surface area of 60 to 150 acres. This huge surface area makes it ideal for adsorbing gases and odors. These chemicals and gases are too small to be trapped by a HEPA filter, but they bond to the enormous surface area in the activated carbon. The bigger the carbon filter, the more chemicals it will be able to absorb and the longer it will keep on working. When it's full, it can't adsorb any more and has to be replaced. Impregnated carbon filters contain an additional chemical (a "chemisorbent") to eliminate certain chemicals like VOCs.

Ion Generators and Ozone Generators create charged particles (ions) and emit them into the surrounding air. These ions combine with impurities (like dust) in the air, forcing the impurities to cling to a nearby surface. Consequently, ion generators often produce dirty spots on nearby walls and floors because they do not eliminate impurities; ion generators simply force impurities to cling to a surface (in the same way that static electricity can make a sock cling to a shirt). Ion generators are the second most popular type of air purifiers, but they both emit ozone, a powerful lung irritant that is especially dangerous for people with asthma and other chronic lung diseases, children, and the elderly.

Warranty - A five-year warranty is a good one. A ten-year warranty is even better! Take into account what the warranty covers - motor, fan, electrical components? Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) - The CADR, calculated by AHAM (The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers), tells us not only how much air is purified, but also how well it is purified. Air purifiers that have been tested by AHAM should have the AHAM Certified seal and CADR numbers for three pollutants: tobacco smoke, pollen, and dust. The higher the CADR rating, the more effective the air purifier is against that pollutant. CADR ratings are calculated impartially and recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency and American Lung Association.

For many music fans, nothing can compare to the audio quality, or nostalgia, of a vinyl record. These versions are fantastic for people who prefer to travel in distant regions where clean water isn't readily offered. Although they're typically the cheapest in their own class, DuroStar generators are all quality items and have a spec degree to rival the best of these. Working on mine sites for the past 6 years I've used diesel and gas portable generators. Ideally, a portable table saw packs plenty of precision and power into a portable package. But most mobile ice makers are incredibly easy to use. Your list ought to be filled with machines that provide sufficient power and run time. Even the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS is a slightly high-end camera that's priced about $250, which is not bad to get a 10-megapixel shooter that has splendid photograph quality. We've examined the features and benefits of each one of those models.

You don't have to give in to air pollution, simply purchase a quality air purifier. Don't quit with the purchase of a purifier; also to cleanse the air control indoor pollution sources, plus you can improve the indoor air quality by properly ventilating. These are three actions part of a plan recommended by EPA for air quality indoors. If you don't go after what you want you'll never have it, so if you suffer from allergy symptoms, asthma conditions, and multiple chemical sensitivities maybe these units are for you.
